Retail Sales BI Analyst

Sales analytics for the chain: basket, footfall, promo, shrinkage. Part of the data team, serving the commercial department and the operations director. Location: remote from Kazakhstan, overlapping with the team in Almaty time (UTC+5). Quarterly on-site team meetups in Almaty. Responsibilities: grow the sales and stock-movement data marts in the warehouse; calculate and defend business metrics (LFL, average basket, footfall conversion, turnover, shrinkage); build dashboards for store directors and the commercial team; ad-hoc research on promo and pricing experiments; monitor data quality from POS and WMS. Requirements: 2+ years in data analytics; strong SQL (window functions, CTEs, tuning heavy queries); dashboards in Power BI, Superset or Tableau; Python (pandas) for one-off analysis; ability to turn a business question into a metric and defend the methodology. Nice to have: retail or e-commerce background, dbt and ClickHouse, basics of A/B testing and promo uplift measurement.
